For a traditional Japanese ski experience, Nozawa Onsen is the perfect place. Nozawa Onsen is a village full of hot springs, discovered back in the 8th century. Steam is visible everywhere in the narrow streets and traditional ryokan shops and inns. The mountain is perfectly suited to all groups from families looking for English instruction and a variety of beginner to intermediate runs to advanced looking for great off piste and powder bowls.

The culture here is historic. Skiing in Japan was born in Nozawa. An Austrian introduced skiing in 1912 to Nozawa Onsen. Nozawa Onsen Ski Resort is now a famous ski resort for worldwide visitors because of its plentiful snow, family friendliness, charming village and good service to English speaking visitors. Nozawa Onsen’s huge 300 hectares of terrain, 50 km of slopes, and 1,085 meters vertical is sure to keep everybody happy.

Nozawa Onsen is located on Kenashi yama (Mount no-hair). Abundant wide groomed and mogul runs have been cut through the trees to make it a stunning ski area. Nozawa Onsen Ski Resort receives approx. 10-12 meters of snow every season. It’s location close to Sea of Japan brings maximum precipitation during storms. It is an amazing place for snow lovers.
